{"id":1103,"date":"2019-04-02T04:18:11","date_gmt":"2019-04-02T04:18:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.awanuilabs.co.nz\/north\/auckland\/?page_id=1103"},"modified":"2026-03-17T16:57:37","modified_gmt":"2026-03-17T03:57:37","slug":"patient-collection-storage-and-transportation-for-reducing-substance-samples","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.awanuilabs.co.nz\/north\/auckland\/for-patients\/preparing-for-my-test\/patient-collection-storage-and-transportation-for-reducing-substance-samples\/","title":{"rendered":"Patient Collection, storage and Transportation for Reducing Substance samples"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><u>PATIENT INSTRUCTIONS<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Important &#8211; Specimen labelling:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure full first and last names and date of birth (dd\/mm\/yy) are clearly written on the specimen container<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure date and time of collection is written on the request form and specimen container.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Specimen collection<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li> Ensure that bladder is empty by passing urine into the toilet so it does not contaminate the faeces. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collect a fresh faeces specimen directly into a faeces container provided to you.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The scoop attached to the lid of the faeces container can be used to transfer the specimen<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The minimum amount required is approximately 2g but no more than a half full container.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Storage and Transportation:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Place the labelled specimen and form into the bio-hazard bag that has been provided.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Refrigerate the specimen until transportation to the Collection centre.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> If more than one sample is required repeat the above procedure the following day and deliver the specimen to Awanui Labs Collection Centre as soon as possible.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"PATIENT INSTRUCTIONS Important &#8211; Specimen labelling: Specimen collection Storage and Transportation: Note: If more than one sample is required repeat the above procedure the following day and deliver the specimen to Awanui Labs Collection Centre as soon as possible.","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"parent":66,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"page-left-sidebar.php","meta":{"footnotes":""},"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v24.2 -
