{"id":1105,"date":"2019-04-02T04:20:20","date_gmt":"2019-04-02T04:20:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.awanuilabs.co.nz\/north\/auckland\/?page_id=1105"},"modified":"2026-03-17T16:57:20","modified_gmt":"2026-03-17T03:57:20","slug":"pinworm-threadworm-specimen-collection","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.awanuilabs.co.nz\/north\/auckland\/for-patients\/preparing-for-my-test\/pinworm-threadworm-specimen-collection\/","title":{"rendered":"Pinworm (Threadworm) Specimen Collection"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>PATIENT INSTRUCTIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>The specimen is best obtained at the beginning of the day prior to showering or taking a bath.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will be given a slide carrier containing a glass slide (labelled with your name and DOB) with a piece of cellotape attached.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Peel the cellotape off the prepared slide.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Spread the anal folds apart and apply the sticky side of the clear cellotape to the anus.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Peel the tape off carefully and press the tape sticky side down onto the glass slide. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Place the slide specimen into the slide carrier and ensure it is closed securely.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Return the specimen with the request form to the Collection Centre on the same day for transport to the laboratory.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><br><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"PATIENT INSTRUCTIONS","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"parent":66,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"page-left-sidebar.php","meta":{"footnotes":""},"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v24.2 -
