Your health care professional will inform you of any specific requirements for your test, for example if you need to fast prior to the test.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is helpful to be hydrated when you present to the collection centre for your blood test, preferably by drinking water, unless advised otherwise by your health care professional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Read more in our <a href=\"https:\/\/fl-healthscope-media.s3.amazonaws.com\/lab-sites\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/05\/awanui-labs_blood-test-information_A4-DL_oct23_V3_PRINT_NO-CROP.pdf\">What you need to know before your blood test<\/a> brochure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Identification<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>It is our responsibility to get the <em>right<\/em> specimens from the <em>right<\/em> patient, to get the <em>right<\/em> results to the <em>right<\/em> doctor, 100% of the time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To ensure we have the right patient you will be asked to positively identify yourself by stating your full name and DOB, in addition to this you will be asked to spell your first and last names to us, prior to any sample collection.
