Before the test, prepare yourself at home:
- For tests on nails let the nail to grow to allow a good amount to be sampled for testing.
- Remove any nail polish from the affected nail(s)
- Clean the area with soap and water to remove anything that has been previously applied.
- Do not apply any cream, ointments, sprays, powders, or lotions to the test site for at least 24 hours before your test, or longer as advised by your referrer.
- You do not need to make a booking for this test
- Please note fungal collections from genitalia, groin or buttocks should be collected by your clinician. Please refer to your healthcare provider for these tests.
