A new Awanui Labs collection centre is opening in Rolleston in September, bringing improved access to diagnostic services for the rapidly growing Selwyn community.

Health New Zealand’s Regional Planning, Funding and Outcomes Director Chiquita Hansen said the project is a collaboration between Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora and Awanui Labs, reflecting a shared commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare services across Canterbury.

The centre will be based at 45 Shelley St, Rolleston, operating Monday to Friday as a fully booked service, with urgent slots available each day.

Mrs Hansen says the new Rolleston Collection Centre will help us better meet the needs of the community and support local healthcare providers. “This has been a goal for the Selwyn region for over a decade, and we’re thrilled to see it becoming a reality,” she says.

Awanui General Manager Te Waipounamu Andrea Guillemot says the team are pleased to open the doors to the local Rolleston community for this much needed and valuable service. “We’re really pleased to bring this service to Rolleston. It’s something the community’s been asking for, and Awanui are proud to play a part in making access to care simpler and closer to home.”
