Awanui Labs Wellington Hospital anatomical pathology department is experiencing histology result reporting delays.  Extended histology reporting times are expected to continue while we clear the backlog of reporting.

Currently 80% of histology was reported within 15 working days, and 90% of reports were completed within 18 working days.

If your case is clinically urgent, please note this clearly on the request form and it will be given priority. An email to wlg.medical.secretaries@awanuilabs.co.nz about an urgent case is also appreciated and will ensure priority.  

Please take these delays into consideration when booking patients for follow-up appointments.  Thank you for your patience during this difficult time for the histology laboratory.
